Description
With over 350 built, the Hatteras 53 Motor Yacht is a classic yachting design. Few American motor yachts of her era came close to matching the Hatteras 53 in comfort and luxury, and none could match the quality construction long associated with the Hatteras brand.
Seller is highly motivated. There will be some cosmetic and mechanical work (Starboard engine Hydra Locked - Port Engine is fine) required by the new owner, all reasonable offers will be presented.
Call, get a look in person, get your offer in. This boat has very solid bones. A newer bottom, No current leaks and a beautiful interior.
*Twin Detroit Turbo's w 435 HP Fresh Water Cooled - 1400 Hours EST
*3 Stateroom - 3 Head Layout - Engine Rooms Port and Starboard

*Boat faired extremely well during Ian. The boat will need a new VHF Antenee (the VHF itself may be due for an upgrade itself). There are two bends in the bimini frame. The Port engine runs perfect. The Starboard engine has a new turbo but it also has what has been determined as hydra lock, oil did get in the cylinders from the old turbo that had been on it. These factors and other cosmetics that can be seen in an upcoming video are factored into the current asking price. The seller does want everyone to know he is motivated and ready to sell, but he is not fixing things. Bring us a fair offer and we will do our best to make things happen for you.

BROKERS WALK THRU
A True Classic Motor Yacht on of the most Popular ever made and they made a lot of them for a reason. Pure Quality Inside and Out and Built to Stand the Test of Time.
From what I can see This boat has spent most of it's time on the West Coast of Florida The past two owners have had kept it (up until about the last year) in Tarpon Springs for the last 15 years.
This boat has Extremely Solid Bones. She has very Solid Top Sides on the Deck and the Bridge. Even in Areas where some 53 MY's get some soft areas around the bow and overhead at the entrance ways these are solid and taunt.
The Interior is mostly Original, but very clean. No noted wood rot around the windows, no current leaks. The Galley windows were re-bedded and redone all other windows are fine. The woodwork thought the boat and particularly down below is absolutely beautiful.
2016 The boat was hauled, and sand blasted. Had a completely new bottom done. 3 coats of epoxy below the water line. 5 Coats at the water line. New high grade Botom paint again with 3 coats below the water line and 5 coats at the water line. (This would be a $40,000 job today) So you are getting practically a brand-new hull with this boat.
Two areas that are in need of cosmetic attention are the Rear Cockpit and the Bridge. The Rear Cockpit is Fairly Open - Non-Cluttered and the option of what you could do to modernize it are endless. There is a pane of Glass missing on the port side. I could really say about the same thing for the bridge as far as being open and non-cluttered. Current and Former owner rarely used the bridge so electronics and the whole ball of wax are yours to do whatever you like.
The engines are about what you would expect from nearly 50 year old Detroit's they did have a complete rebuild in 2005 or 2006 in Ft Myers Florida, not by the current seller (who has owned the boat since 2016) The port engine reportedly works perfect. The starboard engine has a brand new turbo but does currently have what is being determined as a Hydra Lock.. with an offer that is acceptable to the seller you are more than welcome of to have your own mechanic take a look.
This seller is motivated to sell. He does not want the boat to sit around for a long time. There are probably going to be more turn-key 53 Hatteras MY's out there, and there are probably mush worse. There are probably much worse. You can find them on the market anywhere from $80k to $350k ... If you are handy other that the starboard engine a lot of this work is cosmetic and do it on the way work.

POWERBOAT REVIEW
With over 350 built, the Hatteras 53 Motor Yacht is a classic yachting design. Few American motoryachts of her era came close to matching the Hatteras 53 in comfort and luxury, and none could match the quality construction long associated with the Hatteras brand. The Hatteras 53’s expansive three-stateroom interior was considered ideal in a 1970s/1980s motoryacht her size. The wheelhouse is open to the salon, and a centerline door leads to a roomy aft deck area. The galley is down several steps from the helm/salon area and features large counter spaces, abundant storage, and dinette for four. Forward is a guest stateroom (or crew cabin) with over/under bunks and private head. Aft of the walkin engine rooms is the second guest stateroom with twin berths. Further aft, the master stateroom has a walkaround queen berth, dressing table, and ensuite head with shower. Notable updates included the addition of stall showers in the aft guest head and forward head in 1975, and in 1978 the flybridge was redesigned and a queen bed in the master stateroom became standard. Detroit 350hp GM 8V71N diesels cruise at 12–13 knots. Later models with 435hp 8V71TI diesels cruise at 15–16 knots.
